Prior to entering the field of counseling psychology, I spent 12 years in the finance industry as a mutual fund product manager. Although I enjoyed working with client’s investments, I preferred building meaningful relationships, observing their behaviors and attitudes, and helping clients manage their emotions through the ups and downs of the stock market.

In 2004, I began taking undergraduate courses in psychology and transitioned to the field of counseling and have been licensed as a marriage and family therapist since 2008. I completed my clinical training at San Diego Hospice’s Center for Grief Care and Education and worked with several clients who experienced trauma surrounding the death of a loved one, including survivors of suicide. I spent seven years as a certified alcohol and drug counselor and practiced in both inpatient and outpatient chemical dependency recovery programs (including the Sharp McDonald Center in San Diego).

I served as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Point Loma Nazarene University working with freshman students in the subject area of Personal Growth and Development. Currently, I serve as a Consultant for the Department of Navy’s Civilian Employee Assistance Program where I provide short-term, solution-focused counseling to civilian employees, behavioral and mental health consultation to managers and supervisors, and present on a number of health & wellness topics throughout the county.  I work part-time in private practice and enjoy working with women of all ages in the area of addictions, codependency, relationships, and personal growth & development.

I have served as a keynote speaker on the topics of:

  • Addictions
  • Anger Management
  • Burnout and Stress Management
