The Center for Enriching
Relationships
www.enrichingrelationships.org exists to actively enrich and support the marital and relational health within the church and community. The Center accomplishes its mission as a
nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt counseling center supplying professional psychotherapy services with biblically consistent approaches and other resources at reasonable and affordable
fees. CER was first incorporated in Kansas (2003) by Donald W. Welch, Ph.D. Previously, Dr. Welch had served sixteen years (fourteen
full-time) as Professor of Christian Education and Family Studies at MidAmerica Nazarene University, in Olathe, Kansas where he received
the Gamma Epsilon Donald S. Metz award for Distinctive Academic
Contributions (voted Teacher of the Year by faculty and student body)
and was also included in several editions of Who’s Who Among
America’s Teachers. In 2005, Dr. Welch left his full-time teaching
post to move his family and Enriching Relationships, Inc. to
California where he currently serves as Founder, President and Chief
Executive Officer of the
Center for Enriching Relationships™.

Director of Supervision
As Bethel Seminary's Lead Faculty
Member and Director of the Marital and Family Therapist
Graduate Program, I
thoroughly enjoy supervising graduate students.
As the Director of Supervision for the Center
for Enriching Relationships, we endeavor to provide the
San Diego churches with the most qualified and skilled
interns.
In 1971, Family
Consultation Services was established as an expression of
my desire to integrate the perspectives of psychology
and my study of human relationships with God's word as
it is revealed in the Bible. This was the first
professional counseling center in San Diego to be
established with evangelical Christianity as its basis.
Many of the most fulfilling experiences in my more than
30 years of professional life have been in my
relationships with clients and colleagues that I have
been privileged to enjoy at the Center for Enriching
Relationships and Family Consultation Services.
