R. William Difley, A.B. Physics, MBA
Born, raised, and educated in Pennsylvania, Bill and his wife, Mary Beth, after a few years in Baltimore, MD, ventured west for an employment opportunity at Rohr, Inc. After 32 years--entirely in the Aerospace industry as a long-time operations executive and corporate officer over Human Resources--he retired in 1998.
Since then his focus has been on the local church (Skyline in La Mesa) where he serves as Vice-chairman of the Board and co-founded (with wife, Mary Beth) and co-directed for 15 years Skyline’s Marriage Savers Ministry. He and Mary Beth are looking forward to their 55th wedding anniversary in 2019 and enjoy life with their three adult children and six grandchildren.
CER’s mission fits perfectly with the Difley’s passion for healthy marriages and relationships.
Mary Beth Difley, B.A. Psychology, MSW
Mary Beth graduated from a small liberal arts college in Pennsylvania. After her marriage to Bill, she was employed as a Social Worker for the Salvation Army in Baltimore, MD. When her youngest child entered Junior High School, she returned to school and earned her Masters of Social Work from SDSU.
Her career included being an Adoption Social Worker for Children’s Home Society and as a Supervisor of CASA volunteers (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for children in the Juvenile Court System. She co-founded, with her husband Bill, Skyline Church’s comprehensive marriage ministry umbrella--called Marriage Savers @ Skyline--which they co-directed to 15 years. As with Bill, CER’s Mission fits perfectly with her passion for healthy marriages and relationships.
Jerod Fenton, BS Marketing, CFP®, AIF®
Jerod Fenton was born and raised in North San Diego County. He is a graduate of San Diego State University with a BS in Marketing, and later earned his credentials as a CERTIFIED FINANCAIL PLANNER™, and Accredited Investment Fiduciary. He is currently the CEO of RED Seven Wealth Management, a Registered Investment Advisory firm located in Escondido, CA.
Jerod and his wife Monica are enjoying raising their young son Walker.
Rev. Randy Hasper, BA English, MA
Randy Hasper is the lead pastor at Refinery Church in Chula Vista. He and his wife Linda have two daughters. Randy earned a BA in English from SDSU (as well as a teaching credential) and a Masters in Literature from UCSD. He has taught at San Diego high schools and colleges, pastored two churches, and published articles on church leadership, counseling, nature, family and Christian living. He is also a trained mediator. Refrinery Church hosts a CER intern and has set up a copay plan to aid in making counseling affordable to the congregation.
John W. Kopp, Jr. B.S./MBA/JD
John W. Kopp, Jr. B.S./MBA/JD born and raised in a small town in West Virginia, John achieved his desire to attend the U.S. Naval Academy where he graduated in 1967. His naval career included two combat cruises to Vietnam, a tour with the Marine Corps and 15 years as a naval flight officer. After serving his country for 24 years, he earned an MBA and a Doctor of Jurisprudence. In 1990, he started his own law firm where he still practices today. John enjoyed coaching his 3 daughters in soccer and for over 25 years, he participated in the leadership of one of his church’s small groups. He has also been a mentor with his wife, Ann, to couples in pre-marital enrichment. John enjoys riding his bike to work and walking the beach in between helping out with his 2 grandchildren. John joined CER because he wanted to contribute to its mission of enriching relationships.
Donna Train
“I have cared deeply about the restoration of relationships since the Lord miraculously saved me, my husband, and our marriage 28 years ago. Since then I have dedicated myself to growing in my own relationships and encouraging others in theirs.”
Donna has been married to her husband, John, for 37 years, is the mother of 2 and grandmother of 7. She is the owner of Train Tresses Hair Salon, having worked in the beauty industry for over 38 years. She was the Prayer Ministry Director for FamilyLife Today’s local ministry team in San Diego for 12 years and has been Lead Mentor over Enrichment for Marriage Savers at San Diego Skyline Church for 14 years. She has been the Administrator of My Therapist ‘Sez’…, a counseling ministry of CER and Skyline Church for the last 12 years. She has been a leader of the Skyline Church Prayer Ministry, teaching and administrating for the past 6 years. She enjoys camping and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation as often as she can.
Rev. James R. Wilson, B.A., M.A., M.Div., D.Min.
In 1994, after an 18 year career in the computer industry, Jim moved into ordained pastoral ministry. He, and his wife, Connie, left San Diego to serve for 7 years as Associate Pastor of the Placentia Presbyterian Church and 14 years as Senior Pastor of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Los Alamitos, where he led an intentionally inter-generational congregation that focused on disciple-making and developing healthy relationships. After retiring in 2015, they returned to their home in Rancho San Diego.
In November 2016 Jim became the Interim Pastor at Trinity Presbyterian Church of Spring Valley. He stepped out of that role at the end of March 2019. Jim’s current focus is on family, travel, developing his bass guitar skills, on-going ministry at Trinity, reading, and writing. He serves as a member of the Advisory Board for Campus-By-The-Sea, a Christian Conference center on Catalina Island that is part of the ministry to students and families of the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.
Jim is a graduate of SDSU (BA in English Literature and Linguistics) and Fuller Theological Seminary (MA in Theology, Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry).
Constance L. Wilson, B.A., M.S. Counseling Psychology, MFT
Connie’s early years were spent in the La Mesa area. She earned a B.A. in Early Childhood Education at SDSU where she met Jim, her husband of 45 years. After serving as a school administrator and raising three daughters, Connie pursued her passion to be an agent of Christ’s healing as a psychotherapist. She completed the M.S. at Trinity College of Graduate Studies in Fullerton. She was both a therapist and the Executive Director of Alpha Center Counseling in Placentia, providing therapy to the under-served population in northeast Orange County. Later she continued her practice through the Center for Individual and Family Therapy in Orange and Los Alamitos.
Connie has taught Adult Education courses, led support groups, and spoken at Women’s Retreats. Her passion is for people to experience emotional and spiritual wellness through therapy and knowing Jesus the Healer. She enjoys extending hospitality to neighbors and friends.
She and Jim delight in their family – three married daughters and five (soon to be six) grandchildren, travelling to and camping at the national parks, hiking in the mountains, and exploring the San Diego area.
